Fire Smoke Alarm Hush
The hush smoke alarm has a feature that allows it to be switched off for 10 minutes in the case of a false alarm.
It is used for detecting fast flaming fires.

Do Fit The Alarm
- as near the centre of the ceiling as possible; at least 30cms (12") from wall or light fittings
- close to likely starting-points for fires
- within earshot - especially of of sleepers
- above staircase of ground floor hallway (best place in conventional two-storey houses)
Don't Fit The Alarm
- in a bathroom or kitchen where steam or fumes can start it going
- in a garage where exhaust fumes might activate it
- in very hot or cold rooms or above air vents
